Lesson of the Red Fox

August 28, 2009 | 1

On the way to the store yesterday in broad daylight, the kids and I saw a red fox trot along the grassy median. We had been keeping up with traffic, going rather fast. Not inclined to miss out on such things, I turned the car around for a better look (much to the chagrin of the speedy driver in back of me).

Just as we approached the fox again, it STOMPED its front paws onto an unlucky rat, lifted the rodent in its mouth, and start munching on its flesh! Killer “ooohs” and “aaahs” and “gotta call Dads!” issued from the backseat.

Life is short. If you ever *think* you should turn the car around for a better look, do it now!
