    Great shots of that Savannah Sparrow. I find them very difficult to photograph as they seem so skiddish and flighty in my area. What an awesome sparrow!

  2. Thank you! I love Savannah Sparrows, too.

    This individual sat for 2-3 minutes. I crouched down and tip toed closer. Was able to get within 15-20 feet before he took off again.

    At Cornell, I learned an interesting mnemonic device for this bird, but it is Rated R: “00-00 slide it innnnn – yea.” It worked. I’ve never forgotten that sound!
