About Me

I surf the intersections of: Content | Communications | Problem Solving |  Nature | Travel | Technology

On the one side, I am a web producer, content strategist, marketing consultant, and social media coach.  On the other, I am a freelance writer, travel writer, and blogger as well as part-time Destinations Director for Nikon’s Birding Adventures TV.   These activities may seem diverse, but they inspire me every day.

As a technical writer and multimedia consultant, I blend nature, travel, and small business content with progressive technologies.

LauraKammermeier

My company provides a variety of services including freelance writing, content strategy & development, web/mobile media consulting/project management, social media coaching, and online marketing.

I thrive on the creative partnership between clients, programmers, and graphic designers, and help my clients produce content-driven, user-friendly web products that promote their unique message and style. I bring to the equation the strategic focus required to craft an online presence and the vision necessary to build “something out of nothing.”

While birds and nature have been at the center of much of my work, I also work for small businesses and organizations. Knowing how to communicate effectively and bring together disparate minds and voices toward a common goal feeds this crossover ability.

Sustainability in all its forms (environmental, energetic, financial) is a common thread through my life and work. Therefore, I lead clients toward sustainable solutions that fit their time, budget, and natural proclivities.

I am an enthusiastic advocate for birding and nature travel.

You can find me publishing adventure travel articles, as the “Official Blogger” for a birding & nature festival, or working behind the scenes with James Currie’s Nikon’s Birding Adventures TV.

As a travel writer, I report on bird and nature destinations in the U.S. and worldwide. As Destinations & Marketing Director for Birding Adventures, I scout new worldwide birding locations to feature on the show. I also develop sponsorship opportunities with a variety of partners.

My print publications have focused on birding and nature travel and birding technology. In addition to pieces on mobile applications for nature and birding in iPhone Life and Birding, the flagship magazine of the American Birding Association, I’ve published in Bird Watcher’s Digest, Birder’s World, Rochester City Newspaper, and Away.com.

These days, you’ll find me blogging on my own Travel & Birding Blog or as an occasional contributor to American Birding Association blog and to Rochester KidsOutAndAbout.com.
